The grant to Volunteers of America Greater New Orleans will help address the critical housing needs of veterans and is part of more than $1.75 million in funding announced for nine Volunteers of America veterans housing programs in eight states. This funding will help improve or build 219 units of housing for veterans, including up to 64 earmarked specifically for women veterans.

The Home Depot Foundation Pledges More Than $1.75 Million to Volunteers of America to Provide Homes and Services to Veterans
The Home Depot® Foundation has pledged more than $1.75 million in new veteran housing grants. Since beginning its partnership with Volunteers of America in 2011, the foundation has given nearly $11.3 million to improve housing for homeless veterans and their families.

Volunteers of America has been honored with a 2015 Excellence in Ageing Services Award from the International Association of Homes and Services for the Ageing in recognition of efforts to tailor senior support services to the needs of LGBT clients.
